1977 – The founding of Rohmann GmbH by Jürgen Rohmann
1977 – ROHMANN markets the Rototest B500, the world’s first battery-powered test instrument with display for rotary probes
1987 – ROHMANN sets new international standards in eddy current testing with the ELOTEST B1, a battery-powered, universal eddy-current testing instrument for the manual inspection of safety-related components in the aerospace industry
1989 – The ELOTEST PL.1 marks ROHMANN’s successful entry into the production-line inspection market.
1999 – In collaboration with Framatome the HARMONIC 2000 is developed, the first fully digital high-performance testing instrument for heat exchanger inspections.
1999 – With the EOLOTEST M2, ROHMANN develops and markets the world’s lightest and most powerful one-hand testing Instrument.
2000 – With the ELOTEST B300, ROHMANN successfully markets the third generation of the battery-powered eddy current instruments, and at the same time the ELOTEST PL300.
2006 – The subsidiary Rohmann LP (now LLC) is founded in Spartanburg, which is still successfully doing business today.
2007 – With Dirk Rohmann and his sister Petra, the second generation assumes management of Rohmann GmbH headquarter at Germany.
2008 – The ELOTEST M3 is offered parallel to the ELOTEST M2, expanding the product range of portable testing Instruments.
2009 – Occupation of the new business premises with more than 3000 sqm of office and production space, and space reserved for future growth.
2014 – ROHMANN launches a new business segment in the area of heavy plate testing, and gets the so-called Eddy+ method patented.
2016 – As the world’s most powerful eddy current instrument, the ELOTEST PL600 is introduced to the public and breaks new ground with a new kind of operating Concept.
2017 – ROHMANN celebrates its 40th anniversary.
ROHMANN is a leading German manufacturer of eddy current instruments and systems for non-destructive material testing (NDT). For more than 40 years now the family business based in Frankenthal in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate has been developing, producing and marketing test instruments and systems. Today, these instruments and systems are put to use around the world in crack, heat-treatment, positive material identification, and grinding burn tests in notable firms in a wide range of industries, such as aerospace, automotive, rail, and the energy (e.g. power plants and renewable energies) and steel industries.
Research is an investment in our future – Our goal is to apply known solutions to new applications and find new solutions for existing applications. The result is testing systems with improved performance, speed and efficiency. To achieve this, Rohmann GmbH relies on interdisciplinary collaboration with leading labs and technology partners and in areas of applied Research.
